As of 2026-10-24. Tonnes are metric tonnes of fine metal. Investment stock: for gold, bars and coins, gold ETFs and central banks (World Gold Council; jewellery excluded); for silver, identifiable bullion inventories (The Silver Institute). The all-metals line is in US dollars because tonnes of gold and tonnes of silver cannot be added. LBMA fix used: 22 October 2026.

Reserved for other metals

A TS-GMRI-PEN™ index is reserved for every other metal in the TS-GMRI™ family. No value is published until tokens backed by that metal exist and can be measured in tonnes with public price data and the figures of its industry association.

What it measures

TS-GMRI-PEN™ brings the metal indices together in US dollars. How much metal sits inside tokens, compared with two yardsticks that each metal’s industry association already publishes: the metal’s investment stock and one year of world mine production. It is a scale yardstick, not a balance sheet: it does not claim that tokenized metal came from any particular year’s production.

Metal in tokens. XAUT and PAXG are read directly from the public blockchain (Ethereum): total supply of each token, that is, every token issued and not yet redeemed, wherever it is held. One token = one fine troy ounce. Other gold and silver tokens: the number of tokens in circulation multiplied by the metal per token stated by the issuer; where no such statement is available, market capitalisation divided by the LBMA fix of the same day. Governance tokens that do not represent metal are not counted.

Gold yardsticks (World Gold Council): certified investment gold — bars and coins, gold ETFs and central banks — 90,800 t at the end of Q2 2026 (jewellery and other uses excluded); world mine production, 3,671.6 t in 2025.

Silver yardsticks (The Silver Institute, World Silver Survey 2026): identifiable bullion inventories, 43,374 t at the end of 2025; world mine production, 26,332 t in 2025.

Updates. A new edition from an association applies from its publication date; earlier values are not rewritten.

Coverage. Gold and silver today. Other metals join with their own associations’ data when their tokens can be measured in tonnes.
